Have you taken a trip to a bluebell wood?

If you go on a woodland walk over the next couple of weeks you’ll be rewarded with a soft hazy carpet of purple as far as the eye can see.

There are fabulous bluebell woods in flower all over Western Europe right now and according to the National Trust, half of them are in the UK.

Bluebells can take hundreds of years to establish, so if you come across them in abundance it’s a sign that you’re probably walking through ancient woodland.

There are lots of websites that suggest bluebell walks including The National Trust, The Woodland Trust, and if you’re in Gloucestershire, the SoGlos website. Though none of them lists the tiny wood near our home, which is so quiet we often have the place to ourselves.

If you want to experience the scent of a bluebell wood at home, our bluebell candles smell just like the real thing! A rich mix of bluebell, hyacinth, rose and jasmine on a musk base – they are fresh, delicate and utterly gorgeous.

Available from our website, at our next Stroud Farmers’ Market stall on 22 May and from Made in Stroud.
